CIMP shouldered social responsibility by sponsoring Alegria's sports activity

  China International Mining Petroleum Company Limited (CIMP), a subsidiary of Polyard Petroleum International Group, has been operating its SC49 project in Alegria of Cebu Province, Philippines for many years and has established good relations with local residents. On September 20 and 21, 2014, District Sports & Cultural Meet 2014 was held among the local elementary schools, and the organizer, Alegria Central Elementary School, which is right across CIMP's Alegria Office, extended its invitation to CIMP. CIMP not just participated in the event, but also procured sportswear for the students and teachers and sponsored other expenses of the event. Such a doing showed CIMP's great support for local activities.

 

 

  Themed “Working Together Toward A Common Vision”, the activity among local elementary schools in Alegria kick-started with those lovely and athletic students parading in front of all guests. In the opening ceremony, Joyce N. Guardiario, Principal of Alegria Central Elementary School, the biggest elementary school in Alegria, expressed his thanks for CIMP’s sponsorship. He said that he’s glad to see a foreign enterprise like CIMP to seek development there and bring enormous benefits to Alegria. He also hoped that the friendship between both sides would be long lasting. Later, he invited CIMP representatives to the stage and had a group photo taken with participating students and teachers.

 

  After that, a series of cultural and sports events formally commenced. The first eye-catching event was the singing contest, where the chorus from Alegria Central Elementary School won the first prize. In the following activities, the athletes from Central Elementary School in their blue sportswear sponsored by CIMP championed in chess and gymnastics and ranked the second place in volleyball, badminton and table tennis.

 

   

     

        Under CIMP's enthusiastic participation and cheers for the athletes, the two-day event came to a successful end. Local residents in Alegria were impressed and welcomed the friendship of CIMP personnel. They greeted them warmly and kindly invited them to use the sports facilities after school hours or at weekends.

 

   With SC49 Project operating in Alegria for many years, CIMP has assigned a number of long-term personnel to station there. Now more and more employees were dispatched there after CIMP started the preparation for its drilling work. Meanwhile, CIMP also takes an active role in shouldering the enterprise's social responsibility by actively engaging in local activities, procuring materials from local suppliers and recruiting and training local staff members, so as to enhance the cooperation between CIMP and Alegria residents as well as businesses.
