Great Wall Marks its Commitment on Educational Assistance for the Manobo Students

GW provide computers and school supplies to the indigenous people of San Miguel.

 

 

 

 

 

 

GW provided three computers for the Manobos of San Miguel.

 

 

Manobo students happily received the set of school supplies from Great Wall.

 

 

 

With the operation of San Miguel Coal Mining Project (SMCMP) on its way, the Great Wall Mining and Power Corporation (GWMPC) already spearheaded its first semester donation and three sets of computers for the San Miguel Manobo Indigenous Cultural Communities (SAMMICC) Tribal Hall and school supplies for the indigenous elementary students of Brgy. Tina, Brgy. Magroyong and Sitio Inadan in San Miguel , Surigao del Sur on June 09, 2011 at the SAMMICC Tribal Hall in compliance with the conditions set in the Certification Precondition as a result of Free and Prior Informed Consent from the Manobos of San Miguel


The turn over ceremony went successfully as parents and students and their teachers expressed their appreciation to the effort of the company as it is just on time with the opening of the classes in the area .The activity was witnessed by the Department of Education headed by Mr. Norben Moldez, District School Officer and San Miguel Mayor Alfeo Perez Jr.

Great Wall, represented by Fred Chen, put across also his appreciation to the community as the project was embraced whole-heartedly .Great Wall emphasized that the company would comply to its commitment in the implementation of the Social Development Plan to the affected community and more to come during the actual operation . In his message he mentioned that “ the company is here not only to make profit but also to establish good relationship and help to the people of San Miguel.”
