On August 28, 2008 Department of Energy of the Philippines held a grand signing ceremony for the grant of Service Contract 70 to Polyard Petroleum International Co., Ltd. (PPIC) which is a subsidiary of PPIG. PPIC is the Operator with 80% participating interest in Central Luzon Area 2 (SC70) and two local partners are the bidding consortium members.
