On August 28, 2008, Petroleum Brunei (PB) signed the Block M Production Sharing Agreement with the winner tender of consortium composed of by ChinaOil USA (Macao) Ltd., Valiant Int’l Petroleum and Jana at the Empire Hotel.

His Honorable Pehin Dato Awang Hj Yahya, Minister of Energy, embarked the grand ceremony. PB’s Acting President Mohammad Reduan Hj Modhd Yussof made a speech on the ceremony. He said it was an important milestone in the energy sector and development of oil and gas industry in Brunei Darussalam. He mentions that the oil price will no longer be low as before and he hopes the exploration and development of Block M not only to provide the necessary element to fuel the economic development of the nation, but also would be a start of many other achievements to come, including job opportunities.
