Operations

For summary on 2010 Technical studies, the two technical reports, Seismic Acquisition Study, and Comprehensive G&G Study and Research on Prospectivity were completed and submitted to DOE in 2011.

Other subsurface programs that carried out through 2011 include setting up database, Geological Design and Engineering Design of two appraisal wells’Drilling Program, LiDAR Survey, Remote Sensing Study, and Geological Field Program.

We spudded the 1st appraisal well, Polyard-2 Well, on 22 October, 2014 and TD with a total depth of 1240 meters. Our drilling crew conquered such technical difficulties as abnormally high pressure encountered in Maingit Sandstones and successfully completed the designed drilling program, including drilling, mud logging, wireline logging and cementing and completed the 3rd section drilling at 1252 meters.

Experts from PPIG and its contractor Well Logging Energy Technology Co., Ltd. made comprehensive analysis and interpretation on the mud logging and wireline logging results, and detected 36 hydrocarbon zones with thickness of 82m. During DST, the tested casing pressure is stable around 8MP. P2 has tested gas with daily production capacity of over 80,000 cubic meters. The AOF is 241,000 m3/d and the pressure was resumed within 72 hours. The oil testing results show that they are gas zones which demonstrate that the block has great potential for oil and gas development.

Seeking to fully understand the area’s structure through a greater radius of investigation on hydrocarbon traps, we will pilot more drilling opportunities.
