The talents pool of the Institute mainly consists of engineering technicians and researchers. The engineering-technician-team includes 6 senior engineers who have more than 10 years working experience in oilfield exploration while most of the researchers come from our equity participating unit, the Key Laboratory of Hydrocarbon Resource, Chinese Academy of Science (hereinafter referred to as the “Lab”). The Lab now has 57 staffs, including 27 researchers, 20 associate researchers, 4 senior engineers and 3 assistant researchers, among them, 45 people have doctor’s degrees. Our research involves seismic data processing and interpretation, well logging data processing and interpretation, source rock and hydrocarbon geochemistry, petroleum resource assessment, reservoir description and evaluation, cap rock evaluation, basin reservoir-forming dynamic analysis, basin modeling, simulation of oil gas migration, prospects and leads and exploration project design, etc.
